Monday 28th May 2012 – 12:30 to 13:30

Speaker(s):  Min Chen (Computer Science, University of Oxford)

Time series plots have been around for a millennium or more. With the rapid growth of data volumes, researchers are having to deal with a large collection of time series with a huge number of samples, for which the conventional line plot is no longer an adequate or cost-effective tool. In this presentation, the speaker will show a number of alternative visual representations that have been used for time series visualization in the literature, and will outline the needs for, and challenges in, integrating visualization and analytical technologies.
